At-Home Regular Care
and Support
Carrie can provide at-home attention for personal care and household needs and fill the gaps created when we can't do everything for ourselves as we'd like.
Carrie strives to do her best to give compassionate care, while providing essential support, enhancing daily routines and promoting well-being.
Carrie will deliver quality care, respond to individual needs, foster independence where wanted and give peace of mind for families.
Tadah!

Occasional or
Respite Care
When scheduling allows Carrie hopes to provide ad hoc visits for occasional or respite care.
Carrie can visit as necessary to have needs demonstrated ahead of taking over temporary care. To encompass necessary personal care and day-to-day living.
Carrie promises to do her best to respond to need.
Simply, if she is free to help, she will.

I Cared from the Beginning by Carrie

I cared, it turns out, from the beginning.
My ancient grandfather's enormous hand
Held at head-height, by his nursing-home bed.
The plan? Absorb the loneliness and any dread.
I learned, it turns out, from early on,
Then on and on
A dedication to care through Mum
Stoic laughter through Dad.
I learned too,
Taking care of another, takes care of others,
Another and another
With one thoughtful act after another.
A bowl by-the-bed, a plastered knee,
A hug, a listen, some company.
That kindness and a smile,
Affects you, as it does me.
Delving within for insight,
My soul in your shoes,
Letting intuition shore-up
What next to do, for the care of you.
For sure, when times are tough,
When we cannot change our circumstance
Our choice can be to see, "It is still a beautiful world"
And to "strive to be happy...." together.
Keeping on, keeping on...
I don't do much placidly or silently. To help me find some calm I recite this poem to remind me to try.
Exhale and breathe deeply and slowly and I suggest you allow your shoulders to drop as you read.
Focus on the bits that help you.
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
